The Basics of Baccarat

The game of baccarat is a card game that’s popular at casinos. It’s played with two hands – the player and the banker – and has three different outcomes. In every hand, the player is dealt two cards, while the banker gets one. These two hands are combined to form a single tally. This is called the ‘bank’ or the “player,” while the banker gets one of the three “spots” on the board.

The winning bet for the banker is equal to the total of the three cards. If the banker gets the highest card, it wins. If the banker has a total of seven, the game ends in a push. In EZ Baccarat, the player is given two additional options: Dragon 7 and Panda 8. These two bets are each worth up to 40 units each. The player must also keep betting a minimum of eight units for each shoe.

When determining the odds of a hand, baccarat players can use a strategy called the zigzag pattern. The zigzag pattern allows players to identify a double-win streak. When the player has two cards of six or more, they should stand and wait for the next pair to be dealt, or, if the banker has a seven, they should draw one card and re-raise.
